Updates: CHECK THE NEWS SECTION QUICKLY! I am a huge Terry Goodkind fan (Go Sword of Truth series!). After much consideration I believe that his Eight Wizard Rules should be spread around. Although they are said, in the book, to be the eight rules that govern a wizard you’ll see that really these rules apply not to some fictional world and magical fairy-tale characters but to life, our life. If you can completely understand these rules, take them into your heart and live with them in yourself, then you’ll most likely live a happier and more fulfilling life because these rules truly will enlighten and guide. The Eight Rules of Life: 1. The blunt way of saying this rule: people are stupid. The reasoning behind this: people can be coerced into believing something, anything, either because they want to believe in it or because they are fearful of the truth. 2. The greatest harm can come from the best of intentions. This one is very self explanatory. 3. Passion Rules Reason. My personal favorite; also goes well with the saying ‘love makes you do crazy things’. 4. There is magic in forgiveness, the magic of healing; both in the forgiveness you grant, and more so in the forgiveness you receive. 5. Mind what people do, not only what they say, for deeds (actions) will betray lies. 6. The only sovereign (ruler) you can allow to rule you is reason. 7. Life is the future, not the past. Another of my favorites. Goes well with the saying of how if you don’t look to the future and you keep your head down, stuck in the past, you can’t see where you’re going; or something like that. 8. Deserve Victory. Yet again, personal favorite. If you want victory bad enough, if you believe whole-heartedly you deserve it, you can grant it to yourself. But please, don’t take this rule the wrong way with something silly like “I deserve to fly, so I can fly!’, because you can’t. It’s more of a mindset that this rule asks you to put yourself in, and in this mindset you will always be sure to do your best no matter what you do, and that is victory.
